year round school is terrible.. every child in AMERICA needs a break.. as of me being a 9th grader.. i know my sumer releaves stress.. i get to go away to camp and it is my favroite place in the world. Year round schooling is evil, you can take many things away but my summers HERE TO STAY!

A good idea

Year-round school is a great idea. It allows for student to recieve more frequent breaks. I went to year-round school for about 9 years and i loved it... gor 9 weeks, get out 3, then you get 2 months for summer.. It provides for less burnout on both the students' and teachers' parts.

Sure in year round school you get the same amount of breaks but that doesnt mean anything if there all scattered around and some of the more critical brakes are shortened a long 3 month break is execent year round is just an excuse to save money and the youth that dont need to be saved.

year round schooling raises test scores and will make your school a better place to learn. It doesn't take away vacation time, in fact, there is more vacation throught the year, cutting down on vacations taken on attended time. Move to year round shcooling!!!

I am doing a debate about it and I am on the "not for it side" u get cut of all summer fun...sure u get the same amout of breaks but there might be a lot in the winter which is no good. Summer is a good weather season and great vacation time!

Most of these people That are puting thier comments on heredon't Even Know Year round school--I think it is the name that confuses the kids. The only thing i don't like about YRS is the name--that is bacause it really isn't Year round school--It is just Different.We still get our summers (2 months)people! and we acctually get more holidays !!! My christmas break was 3 and a half weeks long! We also get a 1 week fall break and 2 weeks for sping and these other kids get no fall break, only 2 weeks for christmas and 1 week for spring. for me i would rather have YRS.

I think it is a goo idia because it raises test scores and it helps you i haven't had it but all my friends have it in other parts of north carilina it has it and they all seem to like it one of my friends went from a 40% to now 100% i hope this coming up school year it has it at hunters creek middle school.

This is not a good idea. The students need some time to relax and chill over 3 months. They should not do year round school because we will have to do more work and have less time for fun. I have one question for the adults. How would you like it if you were a child now and had to go to year-round school? Most of the people i know said no!!

i definitly think that we should have year round school because it makes grades better. It does not matter that students do not like it. It is about the grades and if they get better or if they sped their summer partying or if they actually learn. year round school is not actually year round! the only reason that students do not like it is because that they do not know that it is not all year round

Well I think that it is a great idea. it helps students become more intelligent because they spend more time in school learning than sitting on the couch watching TV and losing brain cells. Its not like you don't get breaks, you actully get more breaks in YRS than you would in a normal public school. I want to go to YRS.

Year round school is better because you have TWO MONTHS for summer break and almost a whole month if not for christmas break i dont see the point in regular school when you only get about 12 days for christmas break and you dont even get a fall break unlike year round you get a whole week off compared to what one day for labor day which you get for year round school ANYWAY and alos you have 9 weeks of school and then get THREE WEEKS off thats great your always getting a good break unlike Regular school which technically should be called year round beceause it is more vigorous than year round since we go semester after semester after nine weeks and then a summer break and all you have is a little one day faculty senate every now and then and in regular school you get a week off for summer break well guess what YOU GET TWO WEEKS OFF for year round so basically i am in favor for year round i used to hate the idea but just think about it before you hate on it and ALL the people who are hating on it DONT EVEN GO TO YEAR ROUND!!!

I go to a regular school. I was researching the topic for a school paper, and all these quotes really helped. It is nice to learn what actual kids think, rather than reading new letter after newsletter. Reading this helped me realize i really had no idea what year round school was. The fact u get more breaks with year round schools makes me change my thoughts about it remarkebly.
