Silly?
By: Jason - 2000-09-24
I think that, generally speaking, the whole political process has become such a mud-slinging battle that the only people who take the time to sift through all the garbage and learn the presidential intentions of each candidate are other politicians and old people.
All of this name calling has not only made each candidate look like a bad choice, but it also makes it harder to realize the real issues at hand.

Where's The Difficulty?
By: Tom - 2000-09-26
To list all the way things are better than they were 8 years ago would take all night. Does no one else remember what it was like under the Republican administrations? The rich got richer and the poor got poorer. For the last 8 years, things have gotten better for everybody. Nobody seems worked up about tax cuts these days, want to know why? Because, thanks to Clinton/Gore, the tax burden on working families and the poor is the lowest its ever been. So why are we supposed to be interested in George W. Bush? Because his Daddy used to have the job? Because its the next logical step on his resume? Or maybe its about honor and dignity. I hate to sound cold, but under George Bush Sr., there was plenty of honor and dignity but no jobs! Thanks but no thanks. I'll look to my pastor for a moral guide and look to Pres. Gore to build jobs and grow the economy.

I'm always wary of a message without an email address. :-0
Let's take this up in the forum to discuss "All the ways things are better now than they were 8 years ago." I was also around (and aware) during the period you are talking about am and not afraid to and discuss them with someone... :-p

Bush is the Man
By: A Man of Character - 2000-10-16
I just wanted people to know that TJ does not express most people from Cunningham. Matter of fact, a drive through our beautiful little town will show you the otherwise. Going down the hwy in Cunningham you will see dozens of Bush and Whitfield signs showing our support. There are a couple of Brian Roy signs and NO, I REPEAT NO Gore signs. We have decided to wise up and vote republican. We are tired of the lies, tired of the scandals, tired of the tax and spend. Does anyone remeber 92? Clinton promised the middle class a tax cut. What did he give us? The highest tax hike in history. Don't give in to the hype of Al Gore and his running mate Liberman. We don't need them. We need a president that we can be proud to call our own. Proud of our leader, and what he represents in and out of the oval office. The type of presidents that Reagan and Bush were. . .The type that George W. will be!
VOTE BUSH
VOTE WHITFIELD!

What do you mean Republicans?
By: Jax D. Handle - 2000-10-19
To the person who chastised us with the, "Don't any of you remember what it was like under those Republicans" words of wit. Well, you are totally wrong and the reason you are is that although a Republican might have been in the White House, every good thing that either of them tried to do was over-ridden by those Democrats in Congress and the Senate. Do not blame a president for something he has no control over. Do not ever forget that communistic/leftists and democrats controlled the legislature for 40 years. It was the anti-constitutional behavior of the Democratic Party and Democratic/Autocratic Communistic policies of the Democrats that was responsible for them being thrown out of Congress and the Senate. Just look what has happened with Republicans in Charge: This country has the longest economic expansion in history. More people are working now than ever before. It is a direct result of the Republican Contract with America and not the communistic approaches of the so-called democratic party that caused this current economic expansion. It certainly wasn't the Perjured Clinton/Gore/Reno administration where a centralized communistic government allowed FBI, ATF and Delta Force a blank check to violate Americans' Constitutional Rights to Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness with complete immunity from prosecution. (reference Ruby Ridge, Waco, Elian Gonzales, and many other examples of governmental rudeness, abuse of authority and some people believe outright but thinly disguised murder. It was the Clinton Administration that allowed those people at Waco to be slaughtered. It doesn't matter who set the fire, if the Feds had left those people alone to practice their religion in peace, it would not have happened). For one, I want to see a Republican President backed up with the Republican Congress and Senate. I do not want to revert to 8 years ago when the Democrats and communist sympathizers controlled the legislature. (If it walks like a Duck, Talks like a Duck and acts like a duck, one would probably believe that it was a duck. The same applies to communists in democratic clothing. Or, should I say wolves because they certainly devour the Constitution and our Constitutional Rights like wolves While pretending to do us a favor.) No thanks. No more leftists for me. It was the Democrats who sponsored and fostered the Vietnam War based on Lies and half-truths told to the Congress and the American People. There was never an attack by the North Vietnamese against our navy in the Gulf of Tonkin. It was a lie used to test new weapons and to Kill (Murder)the Vietnamese based on a bald faced lie which has since been admitted by officials who were part of the Johnson administration. Incidentally, Kennedy got us into Vietnam but everyone forgets that. Truman Dropped the Atom Bomb (Murdering more than 1000 US Prisoners of War who were known to be in Hiroshima before the bomb was dropped)to impress Joseph Stalin and was in charge during the Korean War, Roosevelt in WWII. Just which party has failed in Foreign relations? Who failed in economics; at honesty and dignity/morality while in office? For example, the Clinton/Gore administration would have been thrown out of office by now if not for the leftists, New World Order Centralized Government proponents among Democrats who saw gain by keeping Clinton in Power. Americans(at least I am) are fed up with the lies and misrepresrentations made against Republican Administrations. When Republicans took over both the Senate and House, look what was accomplished. You owe everything you have today to the Republican Congress and you also owe every loss of your Constitutional Rights and jobs to the Democratic administration. So, let's call it what it really is: Clinton's/Gore's is A failed Administration trying to take credit for what the Republicans in both houses have accomplished, usually over the objections of both Clinton and Gore.
Sometimes the TRUTH hurts but let's put the shoe on the foot it fits and stop trying to force it on the wrong one. If that offend you, it shouldn't and I regret that it may possibly offend you because you may honestly believe that all the President is the Omnipotent force in Government who can do anything. No president cn succeed without help from the legislature. Clinton bears responsibility for stretching our military to the breaking point and marching them in Lock Step with directives from the (Kofi Anan) President of the United Nations, In direct violation of the U.S. Constitution which forbids placing our military force under the command of a foreign entity. And, belive it or not, the UN certainly isn't American. In that respect, I believe that we should send the land grabbers in the United Nations Packing.
Thanks
JDH
I will vote for Bush because it is a vote against getting Gored by a Gore Administration.

Agree

I must admit that I totally agree with Mr. Handle. Clinton should have been thrown out of office.
The worst ever. If I were old enough, I'd vote for Bush right now.

bush vs. gore
By: JT - 2000-10-30
really, a president can only do so much... they promise this and that, but they dont have total control to implement all their ideas... thats why im endorsing george bush... because, like he says, is not about the ideas, but who can get the ideas implemented by getting all branches of the government to work together with a unified purpose... i believe bush can do this
