Paducah
By: Fly on the Wall - 2000-08-08
Paducah needs more single WOMEN!! :) But really, we sure dont need anymore places to eat, or video stores. I am really suprised that with as many places to eat that we have, we still have to wait in line 4 hours to get a table in most popular places. We are all these people coming from?? Paducah really needs more entertainment than anything. Sure in the summer one can go to the riverfront and listen to music, shop, and grab a bite to eat. Where is the fun in the fall?? If someone knows, post it. I would love to see what Paducah has to offer after summer is gone.

Radio Stations
By: Michael - 2000-08-16
I'm originally from Nashville, where the music variety on the radio stations, was plentiful. I wish I could get the same here! I miss being able to tune into a local radio station in between commercials. I miss the vast selection of music available. I miss being able to 'Receive' a signal!!! I miss being able to choose a Jazz station, then switch to an NPR station, then choose an oldie/Rock station, all in the same area (I hate driving in a 50 mile radius, forced to listen to "static"-stations fading in/out). I miss being able to get news, without having to wait for a certain time frame. I miss the diversity!!!

What Paducah Needs
By: Fredd Farkleknocker 4th - 2003-01-09
Yes, Paducah needs more Sewing bees and Quilting parties and Ornamental Crafts Stores and Dollar General type stores. Forget the fact that all our kids go to school and graduate and leave to find higher education and careers elsewhere because real jobs left with all of our industries years ago.
Yes, please I want to see more classes o how to take mason jars amd make them into picasha holders, or how to take an empty factory and make it into a quilting barn display area.
Yes please.... Geez oh mighty "feloe" idiots, did you ever stop to think that we have two major rivers, access to unlimited rail lines, and possibly two to three more interstate highways coming to the area in the next decade...? Why just think of the number of Quilter's we could have come to our "fair" city...?? "...Geez Mabel, we had better order more mason jars..."
Yes, please! I look forward to more posted signs that say, "follow me, I am going to the Quilting festival" while I drive past the numerous empty business storefronts, vacant warehouses, and possible sites for industry in our be-you-tee-ful (full? NOT!) downtown area with its gorgeous renovated sidewalks and special traffic light housings' and ...uh..., wait a minute, hold it... I have the answer... dang me - I got it!! ...Let's put a XL Super Wal-Mart downtown with a boat/barge dock.... There ya go Gladys... we solved everything now..... Ga-huh Ga-huh!
Sincerely, 4F

A Thai Restaurant
By: Robert - 2004-06-05
Paducah has lots of restaurants.
Probably 10 steak houses, 15 Burger joints, and a lot of overlap with other style restaurants. No Thai restaurant though. No Garlic restaurant either. No Hooters yet.
We could use a Hardrock Cafe or
House of Blues as well.

Paducah needs...
By: Robert Todd - 2004-12-21
A lot of the comments are correct, especially in regards to the fact that Paducah needs to concentrate its efforts on future jobs and expansion of the McCracken County area. We have a tremendous potential for sustained economic growth and community stability. We have many available renewable, natural resources provide the basis for a strong future economy. Paducah has a solid foundation for transportation, agriculture and technological careers. We do need a four year college program. Also, we need a continuing program in the development of careers for our young people who do not want to go to college, in other words careers in trades. With the possibilty of two major interstates coming to the Western Kentucky area, the development on the LBTL recreational area, and the technological park we need to focus on our future economic development. Everything else will come when that is taken care of.....
