Keeping the Ten Commandments out of the school is just as much a violation of my rights. If parents dont want their kids to view the Ten commandments, I guess I could respect that with a valid arguement. I have yet to hear one good reason, other that the whine that it violates thier rights. Well, to all those people who are whining, I only have one question......"DO YOU WANT SOME CHEESE TO GO WITH THAT WHINE??"

How about that whole separation of church and state argument. That seems reasonable for the Supreme Court.

I have nothing wrong with the Ten Commandments in schools, but if you are going to put them in schools, why not put the eleven satanic rules also, if you are Christian, and want to read the Commandments, so be it, but if you are not Christian/non-religious, you should have a free chance to look at what you believe also.
 The Eleven Satanic Statements
 By: Beans - 2003-03-27

Ok, well how about another religious document to post in schools? If you want the Ten Commandments posted in schools, whats to stop us from posting the Eleven Satanic Statements? The Nine-fold path? Other religious documents? How about we just drop religion and leave that up to the person to decide what they want to surround themselves with.

The Ten Commandments are holy and good and show us the way God wants us to live in preparation for heaven. Have you noticed all the violence in schools since prayer and The Ten Commandments are being pushed out.
Why do they hurt when they show us right from wrong.

 10 commandments

There is nothing wrong with posting the ten commandments in our schools and around the United States. If it offends anyone, get over it! They don't have to pay any attention to them. This country was founded on freedom of religion, and our freedoms as Christians are being taken away.By displaying the ten commandments, no one is forcing anything on anyone.
 10 Commandents
By: Norma Jean Winter - 2003-12-28

The Preamble starts WE, THE PEOPLE== therefore I think We, the people should have the choice. If the majority of the people want the 10 Commandents put in the schools. then so be it/ If the majority do not then so be it. If a person feels that any religious item or symbol threatens or infringes on their beliefs===they have a problem.
My children were in a Protestant class in school but it was my choice. I signed the permission slip!! The people whose children are in the schools should have a choice Not a few people making the choices for a majority

Our individual rights end when they affect another person adversely. Consequently, we have the right to freedom of speech, but do not have the right to yell "fire" in a crowded movie theatre. The Supreme Court has ruled that coercive prayer in schools is unconstitutional, and the posting of the commandments portrays favoritism toward the Christian faith and coerces students to abide by its guidelines. Consequently, this causes undue discomfort to those that are of different faiths or have made the conscious decision to be Agnostic or atheist. Lastly, to make the connection between religion and morality is totally and utterly incorrect. Every organization has hypocrites, and being a practicing member of the Christian faith does not guarentee that a person will be moral. For example, countless priests across the nation have been arrested and convicted of sexual abuse. Not only were these priests practicing Christians, but as priests were the spiritual leaders of their respective communities.
10 Commandments should be posted in scho
 By: Joe - 2004-02-06

The 10 Commandments should be posted, because a lot of us Christians don't have the money to join a private school. If someone doesn't like it they don't have to look at it. It's not like we are putting a gun to their head saying, "read the 10 Commandments." But if you would like to read them while at school you should be allowed. Our nation when it was first founded was based on a Christian government, so by destroying this government they created and saying its not right we are disrespecting the founders of this country, nation, and government. Also by not posting them, you are not letting us practice our religion of Christianity. In Christianity we are supposed to keep the 10 Commandments, but while we are at school you are not letting us do that. We need to post the 10 Commandments in schools.

The ten commandemnst should be in school. like everyone else is saying if you don't want to look at it you don't have to. The commandments are rules we should follow everyday! Honor thy father and thy mother, HELLO most kids don't listen to that anymore. MAYBE if they see it more often they would listen to it more often! We have the right to express our religion and if a teacher or administration wants to post it then it should be aloud to be posted!!

 Ten commandments in school...
 By: kat - 2005-01-31

First off, this country was, from day one, based on the Bible. The more we push God out of our government and our school systems, the worse things seem to get. Secondly, not only are the Ten Commandments a religious document, but it's also a set of good rules to live by. If everyone would abide by them, Christian or not, the world would be a much better place. No stealing, killing, adultry, overall respect for people, etc. I do believe that they should be posed in every classroom in the nation, because that's where our children spend 40 hours a week, 3/4 of the year, for 13 years. If we teach them to respect and honor their parents, not to kill or steal from their peers, and everything else the Commandments teach, they will grow up to be better people and maybe...just MAYBE we won't hear so many bad things on the news every night.

 Ten Commandments
 By: Blake Cantrell - 2005-03-08

Yes the rights are individual but listen to 1st amendment
"congress shall make no law respecting establishment of religion or PROHIBITING THE FREE EXCERCISE THEROF" therefore we can express our religion and any document or parapheneliea associated with it now matter how many people it effects. And god bless all of the people who support the ten commandments being reinstated. This country says that we can express our religion publicly and freely in any public building. Parents if a school says that there is no bible or ten commandments allowed SUE THEM. For they are infringing you and ur childs rights. The constitutions 1st amendment grants you and every body else to express your Religion Freely. I just wish people who want the commandments out would just shut up and stop complaining because if they are following another religion they can post their religious documents too. So my reply to those who oppose the right that our forefathers of this country granted us to freely and publicly to express our religion my reply to those who hate the idea of posting the ten commandments the reply is "stop Complaining because the 1st ammendment grants you the right to post yours too, so shut the u kno what up"
Thank you very much for listning and supporting us christians right to post the commandments. GOD BLESS YOU!!
