| I moved to miami 23 yrs ago and go back to paducah just about every year. The first place I stop is starnes BBQ. Theirs no other place like it. the one in benton is ok but not worth the drive from paducah. I take home as much BBQ sauce as we can carry. wish they would bring a starnes to miami. |

| It's been over ten years since I 've been there but I'll be coming back in April 2006. I really don't remember much about the atmosphere or the service, that's why it such a low rating. Is or was MR. Starnes a preacher too? |

| On a scale of 1-100 I'd rate Starnes BBQ as 200! Although I keep trying to find a good bbq joint in Michigan, they just don't get it. I was born in Paducah and moved to Michigan with my mom to start first grade, just after graduating from Miss Morgan's Nursery School. I returned to spend the summers on my grandparents farm, Hodges Pony Farm, located halfway between Paducah and Mayfield on old Hwy 45. Every Saturday we would go to Paducah to shop (trade as grandma would say). We would finshed up at Starns for lunch. There is a bottle of Starns BBQ sauce hidden in my fridge under the salad bag in the veg crisper, least one of my kids should find it. Hands off. I often say it would be worth the road trip just to go and bring some home! I agree with others, a web site would be a great way to order. I know they ship the sauce all over the world. Sadly, the search will have to continue. The bar has been set too high! |

| Loved it as a kid when I lived in Paducah, & still do. Been gone for 25 years but every trip back home to visit the folks I try to get some BBQ to bring back with me. A cooler & dry ice mean I can continue to enjoy it in Oklahoma! Wonderful sauce too, not like that sweet syrupy stuff they think is BBQ sauce in Oklahoma. |

| My Dad is from Paducah, but moved to Missouri years ago. We always went to Starnes when we went to visit family there. It is the best BBQ I've ever had! We still go to the little green building when visiting family there. I would like to see them have a web site where you could mail order, if nothing else the sauce. I hope they never change the place, or the way they fix the meat & sauce. BEST BBQ EVER!!!!! |

| There is nothing like the special green of Starnes Restaurant. It means you can look forward to the very best pit barbeque in the world. I grew up in Paducah eating Price's and Starnes. A bottle of Starnes sauce is always in my refrigerator and a pound of Starnes pork is always in my freezer. It's the best. |

| Gotta say that Jason must work for backwoods or is on crack. Backwoods is ok, tried it the last time I was in Paducah, but Starnes is still superior. I always grab a few bottles of sauce before coming back to Chi Town. The place could use some updating - they could spruce it up without losing the 50's appeal. Other than that, you won't fine a betters pork sandwich anywhere. |

| The only reason I would recommend this place is so you could go the next day and eat Backwoods BBQ and see how much better they are. This plac use to be the best place to get BBQ in Paducah, but they have gone down hill. Hams and such are still pretty good. And the sauce is good.
I think the reason so many people still rave over this place nostalgical memories. Remembering when this was a great landmark in Paducah and the food was great, now it is being swallowed up by other busnesses and the food quaility has dropped.
DRY
LESS flavor than other places in Paducah.
OVERRATED
If you people don't realize this, then you need to. People who read these reviews from out of town read this, then try it and think that no one in Paducah knows what good food tastes like. |

| Neat little place. The pulled pork sandwich is wrapped perfectly in this wax paper. Its neat. The sauce they have there is really good. You dont get a lotta food in one of their sandwiches, but their only 2 dollars each if your really hungry.
Its not worth traveling hundreds of miles like some people make it out though. its a little dingy 50s looking little tiny place with little tiny tables to eat at. Its not fancy. its definately quiant.
Just go try it and write your own review (and buy a bottle of sauce) |

| First, let me say, there is none better than Starnes BBQ!! Here in Florida they think BBQ is some kinda meat with red syrup poured on it... Well, Sonny let me tell ya that ain't it!! I grew up in St. Louis and am able to say I know the truth! When we would visit my Grandparents [1960's] who lived in Paducah [wonderful place to live by the way!], we had Starnes for lunch at least two times while we there and always took a large white pkg [guessing 25 pounds] packed in a cooler home with us. Sometimes we would take some BBQ across the street to Noble Park and eat out under the trees, and then enjoy the rides. Now at 43, we always stop and have at least 2 sandwiches each[coming and going] on our drives to St. Louis from Orlando. Starnes BBQ could win any contest anywhere anytime anyway anyday! And of course, there is a fourth generation, possibly 5th soon, enjoying Starnes BBQ! That little green building is a wonderful sight for many generations of fortunate Americans. Often in life, no change is a great thing! |

| Good Grief, how can you rate a 5 star BBQ Restaurant with only a scale of 1 to 5...Becky has been working there for over 35 years, the Starnes have owned for for several generations and even taught the Otts how to make good BBQ in East Tennessee.
The family is great, the BBQ is the best I have ever eaten and I have EATEN come BBQ in about 35 States...nothing compares.
I have imported the Sauce for years, usually buy about 8 fifths when I am in Paducah to make it last me, but right now I am OUT and having withdrawal.
I would recommend, and have, Starnes to everyone. Always have, always will. It is the BEST in the USA! |

| Starnes is a timeless treat! Since I was a kid visiting family till now it is the first and last stop. The building hasn't changed over the years which makes it all the more a special place to be. I wish though that the employees would realise that they work in a legendary place and not be indifferent to us out-of-towners. The regulars are treated friendly, but we routinely get the cold treatment. Nevertheless we will always be back! |

| I've been enjoying this BBQ since I was a very young child when I'd visit my grandparents in Paducah. Absolutely, positively - the best pulled pork in the universe! And the sauce -'Oh, my God"! - the best BBQ sauce ever. I use the sauce on just about any meat - especially leftover Thanksgivig turkey. Yumm!
My grandparents would always bring me my "fix" when they used to visit me in Okla. And, I would always bring some pulled pork shoulder and sauce home with me whenever I visited them in Paducah. |

Call the restaurant they will give you the wholesale telephone number. I always order 10lbs. in 1lb. packs and only eat one on special occasions or when my daughter begs me,"dad please". |

| Starnes has the best pork and ham sandwiches and the best sauce that I have ever found. We love BBQ and try to find it every place we travel. The level of comparison is to Starnes , which is simply the best. When we come back to Paducah to visit, we stock up our coolers with a hickory smoked pork shoulder and a hickory smoked ham and resupply our bottles of Starnes sauce to use on anything that needs a little more zest.
Starnes has been a Western Kentucky tradition for decades. It is always a taste of home. |

| Every summer I went back to Paducah to visit relatives and 30 years ago as a kid
and still today it is the best barbecue & sauce anywhere.
Like many others when I can go there from my home in las vegas , Nv --- I buy a cooler grab some dry Ice and stock up on several pounds of the pork as well as a gallon of their sauce. You can't get barbecue like that anywhere else. Keep cooking with the Hickory and don't switch to the gas like so many others have - it isn't the same |

| Not only does Starnes BBQ make its way out west, any of our Paducah relatives coming to visit in South Florida knows that a pork shoulder and a bottle of sauce are almost mandatory. Just before Thanksgiving, we brought our 3.5 year old grand daughter into Starnes for here first taste of real Paducah BBQ. There's another whole generation of Starnes-lovin' Paducah-BBQ-munchin' young people on the way! Thank you, Starnes, for not becoming big-time, even though you are a legend coast-to-coast. |

| I made my first visit back to Paducah since 1989. Went out to Wal-Mart and bought a cooler and then a direct shot to Starnes BBQ.
I loaded up the cooler with 15 pounds of pork and 5 bottles of sauce and headed back to Arizona.
There is nothing in this world that compares to BBQ in Western Kentucky.
I grew up on it and have been going to Starnes since they were in the first location next to the Bon-Ton Barbershop (another great place).
Used to trade hunting stories with Larry.
I wish you guys much continued success. There is nothing better.

| I have not lived in Paducah since the early '60's, but my first and last stops whenever I visit are to Starnes.
You don't go there for the atmosphere! Just for the best pit Barbecue in the country |
