trying to figure out yardage--new quilter
 By: Ann - 6/17/02 (11:07 AM)

 Hi,
I am a newer quilter and I am trying to figure things out on my own...Big mistake . I am making a queen sized cover for my bed using Michael Miller\'s Nouveau panels of Geisha girls. I am planning to use 6 panels and then do 2- 2 inch borders around each panel. I then plan on joining the 6 panels {3 across 2 down} to be the center of the quilt. How do I calculate the yardage around the joined panels to complete the quilt? I plan on using one of the coordinating fabrics that looks like a border print.
I hope I am explaining it correctly.

I am trying to figure out how to calculate the yardage for borders.

2" x 242" (blue) and the second border 4" x 241" in red.

Is there a chart? If so where may I purchase it.

Thank you for your information.

Shirley,

Hancock's Fabrics of Paducah is a World of knowledge when it comes to these types of questions. I would contact or visit them.
