ten commandments should stay in public schools
 By: evelyn compton - 7/4/05 (10:53 AM)

i believe that the ten commandments should be posted in public schools as well as other public places.after all one day we will be judged by those same laws by our father god.so many people want to take him out of everything but i believe if all christains take a stand and stop letting the aclu and other god haters take our rights and our liberties away from us god would protect us the way he used to do,but if we say nothing ,the atheist sure will .today it is a shame that a christain has hardly no rights and everyone that isnt does.i love everyone but hate the things they do to take god out of everything,he is the foundation of our great country ,without him in control america would fall.so if you are a god hater i still love you but i cannot stand by and let you take my rights any longer from me.GOD is just to important for me to ever give up on keeping him in command of his people in this country and the rest of the world.

Evelyn,

When one is referring to God, the word God is supposed to be capitalized.

The Ten Commandments is the same as the Bible, it/they are intended to be a guidance to everyday living and are also historical.

When the Ten Commandments are used soley as a push in your face religion, that is not good. Do you want all of those non-Christian religions to be pushed in your face? I don't, and I certainly do not want my religion pushed in my face, either.

And just so you know, I am a very deeply spiritual person, and I love the Great Spirit very much indeed.

But you know what, Evelyn? God gave to all of us brains and intelligence, and by damn, I've yet to see people using much of either lately.

And just so you understand, Evelyn, it is not just Christians that are losing our rights and liberties, it is ALL Americans, Athiests included.

Personally, I don't care what the rest of the world does. Just keep them the hell out of our faces. Let them live their lives, let us live ours.

I believe that if you do some intelligent researched reading/listening and also engage in some deep pondering, you may find that, the special interest groups are a big cause of the problems of other sorts, that are causing us to lose many of our rights and liberties. It is happening every day, even right here in Paducah.

I don't believe the ten commandments should be posted in public schools for the simple fact of keeping church and state separate.
The line between church and state is getting blurry, at best.

My 2 cents......

Separation of church & state means that no state shall establish ONE religon...the 10 Commandments does NOT establish a certain one since all civilized ones recognize them!

It seems to me that if you were a Christian, you would want the 2 commandments rather than the 10.
