Short Story Contest

Linden Hill Publishing announces its second short story contest…………….
Amazing Cat Tales
Our feline friends never fail to amaze us. A cat walked 37 miles to find her way back home. Another cat warned his owner of an approaching earthquake. From heroic deeds to simple acts, we are amazed daily by their intuition, antics and tenderness.
You are invited to write an amazing cat tale. It can be fact or fiction.
Prizes are $200 for First Place, $100 for Second Place, and $50 for Third Place.
Entries must be 2500 words or less and submitted in 12 or 14-point type (Please, no fancy fonts) on 8 1/2 X 11 in. paper. Stories will be numbered for blind judging. IMPORTANT: include the title & page number on each page and the total number of words in the upper right hand corner of the 1st page. Author's name must not appear on the manuscript, but include a separate cover letter with your story title, name, address, phone number, and email address.
Send $15 entry fee with each submission to:

First, Second and Third place winners plus the next twenty-five best stories will be published in Amazing Cat Tales to be released in the spring of 2006. All 28 winners receive a copy of the book.
Deadline for submissions is September 15; finalists will be notified by January 31, 2006. For printing purposes, finalists will be required to resubmit their story as a digital file in Microsoft Word compatible format.
