Grand Rivers is situated between two of the largest man-made lakes in the country, Kentucky and Barkley Lakes, at the northern entrance to Land Between the Lakse, aka. LBL. The Commonwealth Yacht Club is located at the Green Turtle Bay Resort in Grand Rivers Kentucky on the Cumberland River at Mile 32. The entrance to Green Turtle Bay is one mile north of the Canal connecting the Cumberland River with the Tennessee River, making CYC very accessible from both Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.
The original Hamburger Patti's was a block building that was part of a 6-unit motel. It quickly outgrew its walls. With the Tullar family working together, motel units gradually gave way to become dining rooms. The upstairs room and uni-sex lavatory (with my treasured cast-iron, footed bathtub and Indian Joe) was the Tullars’ personal living room and bath.
