A Prayer for America
Almighty God, who has given us this good land
for our heritage, we ask that we may always
be mindful of Your goodness and glad to do Thy will.
Save us from violence, discord and from confusion;
from pride, from arrogance, and from every evil.
Defend our liberties, and help us to be a united people.
Confer upon us the spirit of wisdom,
especially upon those in whom we entrust
the authority of government, that there
may be peace and justice at home.
In time of prosperity, fill our hearts
with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble,
help us to keep our faith and trust in You
