Lars is a 1979 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of science in accounting, departmental honors with high distinction. Licensed as a CPA in 1981, he became a Certified Financial Planner in 1986 and a Certified Valuation Analyst in 1996.
Lars began his career with the St. Louis office of international accounting firm Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., where he rose to the position of tax manager before relocating to Kentucky. After achieving shareholder status in a regional firm, he founded Blythe & Associates in May 1986.
Lars is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and Physicians Viewpoint Network, a national network of consultants with a concentration in healthcare services.
Lars is active in the community and in church affairs, serving on several boards and committees.
