The Mission of the Market House Theatre is to enhance the quality of life in our community by providing a "hands on" artistic experience for people of all ages.

The final performance audience of Best Christmas Pageant Ever and the last audience to sit in the seats that were made over a hundred years ago. New seats will greet audiences in 2010!

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, supports Market House Theatre with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

  • On October 14th, 1963, a group of eight interested people met to form a "little theatre group" in Paducah, Kentucky.

  • The Paramount Arts Center, hosts headline entertainers, Broadway plays and performances in every genre year round. Housed in the restored Paramount Theatre which, built in 1931, the Arts Center began presenting performing arts in 1972. The theatre seats 1400 people and is listed as a Kentucky Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Lexington Children’s Theatre offers wonderful shows for children and their families. The season begins in September and runs through May. Share the experience of theater with a young person.

  • Constructed in 2001, The PAC is unique in the nation as one of a handful of performing arts centers designed and operated by theatre professionals but owned by a public school system. As such, the Kentucky Arts Council, the Southern Arts Federation, the National Endowment for the Arts have all rewarded it for its contributions to the students and community of Hardin County.
