WNBS received approval from the FCC and began broadcasting in the early evening of July 1, 1948. Early programming included live music from the studio from country music groups and from gospel quartets. A piano was a part of the equipment in the studio for musicians to use.
WNBS - AM continues to provide the services envisioned by its founders with a strong emphasis on news, especially lcal ews, with 5 such newscasts daily. It also has 2 remote shows daily, known as The Breakfast Show and On The Road, which provide a variety of history, community events and general information. It also carries several syndicated talk shows.
The Kentucky Opry is a good, clean family fun, country music, variety and comedy show. The Show is modeled after shows in Branson, MO and Pigeon Forge, TN. Twelve cast members of the Kentucky Opry will keep your "toes-a-tappin" and your sides hurting from laughter. WZZL (106.7 FM, "106-7 ZZL Rocks!") is a radio station licensed to the community of Reidland, Kentucky, and serves the greater Paducah, Kentucky, area. The station is owned by Withers Broadcasting Companies and licensed to Withers Broadcasting Company of Paducah, LLC.

From time to time Bristol Broadcasting Company, who operates WKYX and three other stations in Paducah, has full and part-time job openings.
