Constructed in 2001, The PAC is unique in the nation as one of a handful of performing arts centers designed and operated by theatre professionals but owned by a public school system. As such, the Kentucky Arts Council, the Southern Arts Federation, the National Endowment for the Arts have all rewarded it for its contributions to the students and community of Hardin County. In 2002, The PAC was recognized by the Kennedy Center as one of eleven demonstration sites nationwide as part of their Community Audit for Arts Education.
