Scottsville

On Hwy 100 East about 5 blocks from Old 31E, look for the Tabernacle, the seat of early revivals and gospel singing held in Allen County since 1897- Scottsville is the home of the Kentucky Stale Singing Convention held in October each year. The Tabernacle is open to all denominations for religious purposes only.

Located on North 1st Street two blocks off (Old 31E) you will find the historic Public Spring. Founded in 1815, Scottsville became the county seat of Allen County because of the Public Spring. In the early days, it was a source of fresh water and the center of West Main Street (Old 31E) is the site of many historic homes. The house on the comer of West Main and Which is believed lo be the oldest home of continued residence. On the Front lawn then- is a Cal acanthus bush which has been blooming since 1842.

The Allen Co. Historical & Genealogy Society and Museum is located 3 blocks off Old 31E at 301 N. 4-th ft Built in the Early 1900'a, it houses over 1,000 artifacts and memorabilia as well as a vast collection of genealogy.
