Paducah's Ice Skating Rink
RiverPark in downtown Owensboro offers one of the state’s most spectacular Christmas presentations. It features an outdoor skating rink overlooking the Ohio River. A giant 20 x 40 foot inflatable screen allows visitors to watch some of the favorite holiday movies. A snow-making machine adds to the reality of it all, especially when the children have a chance to build a real snowman.
Paducah's Seasonal Ice Skating Rink is located Paducah Riverfront downtown in the Farmer's Market Parking Lot and available for public skating as well as reserved private parties and celebrations. For more information on making a reservation, please contact the Parks Department at 270.444.8508.
Party packages can always be customized and upgraded. All skate guards will need to be able to skate. Bring the kiddies to the Downtown Paducah Ice Rink each Saturday for the fun Character Skate! They'll meet their favorite cartoon and movie characters, enjoy story time and skate! $3 per person. Today's theme: Snowy-Polies.

Paducah Annual Snow Sculpture contest
Also enjoy Paducah Parks Services Annual Snow Sculpture contest. All participants will be asked to build a sculpture using fresh snow that had fallen in this region. Pictures of each sculpture taken and will be sent to be judged. The submitted entries judged and the winners will receive trophies. Winners can pick up their trophies at Parks Services at 1400 HC Mathis Drive in Paducah.
Contest organizer Amie Clark said during last snow sculpture contest several families of three or four siblings entered sculptures. Most of the entries, consisting of small snowmen, animals or snow angels, were submitted after last weekend's snowfall. Snow dogs, snow caterpillars and even a snow tortoise were among the 20 entries in the Paducah Parks Services snow sculpture contest. The idea for the snow sculpture condition was derived from summer's inaugural sand sculpture contest.
