McCracken County Public Library is a Public library. This library is the central facility for the library system that serves McCracken County, KY. The Local and Family History room, our genealogy and local history section, is located in the new addition on the first floor of our library. The collection focuses on Kentucky, the Jackson Purchase region, surrounding counties, and states which relate to Kentucky migration, including
Virginia, Tennessee,North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Southern Illinois. The Teen Tech Lab in the Youth Services Department has 17 computers with Microsoft Office and Internet Access. Live Homework Help is an exciting online tutoring service featuring expert tutors from across the country connect to live tutors for one-to-one homework help sessions
especially for K – 12th grades College Intro and Adult Learners, Math, Science, Social Studies and English, Free Every day 2pm - 10pm. Kids program is designed for preschoolers and their caregivers to educate, entertain and delight your child.

McCracken Co. Library presents Evening Upstairs
Evenings Upstairs programs are free of charge and are open to the public. They are held monthly at the library in the comfortable meeting room setting. They last approximately 1 1/2 hours with a lecture or presentation following with audience discussion. They involve author events, poetry readings, performances, lectures or presentations by scholars, local "experts" and noted authors. Much of Kentucky's rich historical legacy is preserved in ghost stories, including those related to the Civil War, ancestors, graveyards, murder victims, haunted spots on the landscape, haunted houses, and ghostly lights and screams. Montell's talk will also discuss the historic value of hearing and preserving Kentucky's verbal legacy. Presented by the Kentucky Humanities Council and the Friends of the McCracken County Public Library.

HOLD A BOOK FROM HOME FOR TEENS:
If the book, audio or CD you want is listed in the Library's card catalog, you may request that it be held for you to pick up. You will be notified when the checked out items you requested is available for pickup. Requested items will be held for 5 days. Videos and DVDs may not be reserved. From the card catalog, type in the title of the item you are looking for and select "search." Once the desired item is located, select "request" at the top of the screen. After entering your name and library barcode, press the "select" button for confirmation. You will be notified via mail when the items you requested are available for pickup. Requested items will be held for 5 days. Videos and DVDs may not be reserved. Requests for available items are filled only once every 24 hours, before 10:00 AM daily.
