Lowertown Trolley Tour
Galleries, art studios, specialty stores and restaurants in Lower Town and Downtown join forces to give you a night to drink in Paducah’s vibrant and growing cultural offerings. Visitors and residents alike can now enjoy a complimentary biodisel trolley ride made possible by donations from the city of Paducah, Mainstreet and CVB . Shop for art and specialty items for your home or office, enjoy excellent food and see the sights. Maps will be available on the trolley and at participating venues. Convenient, free parking is available at Paducah Area Transit’s new Park and Ride facility, just off the Downtown Loop on North 5th Street.
Whether you choose a walking tour, horse-drawn carriage ride, or trolley tour, Paducah is a vibrant and fascinating city from any perspective. Ride the trolley through Paducah’s central business district and Lower Town Arts District. Wave to the driver at any location to board the trolley. Complete route takes approximately 35-40 minutes. Trolley stops at the Bus Station in Lower Town (850 Harrison) for 10-15 minutes.
Downtown Trolley runs - Lowertown Info Center, Jackson House, Courthouse, City Hall, Post Office, Library, Riverfront, AQS Museum, Expo Center including the River Heritage Museum, which celebrates the history of the Four Rivers region. Among other pick up and drop off points, the trolley has stops at the Quilt Museum in the downtown area and the historic Texaco station in the Lowertown Arts District.
River City Ghost Trolley Tour
The spooky fun kicks off with the Market House Theatre River City Ghost Trolley Tour Gala, 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, with October-themed refreshments and cider on the Market House Theatre stage. Trolley tour features several ghosts highlighted on iList Paducah, including those shown below at Aphrodite Gallery, Molly Redhair Studio and the Fitzpatrick home.
Gala attendees will snack on fall themed goodies on the MHT Main Stage and then hop aboard the Trolley and get a guided ghost tour filled with thrills and chills as we step into the legends surrounding Paducah's historic Downtown and Lowertown areas. Trolley tours leave at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Market House actors serve as guides, sharing ghost stories at several stops Downtown, in LowerTown and at the Fisher Mansion and the Hotel Metropolitan (left). $30. Cultural Trolley Tour
Beginning at 5 p.m., Paducah Area Transit System will provide complimentary trolley tours every twenty minutes through the downtown and Lowertown areas. One of the famous red-jacketed Paducah ambassadors will be on the trolley to assist in directing.
Catch the trolley at any of the participating merchants and restaurants locations or at the Park & Ride shelter located across from the Executive Inn between Third & Fourth Streets, where parking is available for your vehicle.
Enjoy a leisurely self-guided tour of 50 life-size portraits of Paducah's colorful past, drive the historic Dogwood Trail in the spring. If you haven’t experienced a Trolley Hop night, this would be a great first time for you to attend!
