The Paducah Coca-Cola Bottling Company
by Corey Dunn (May 1, 2003)
Paducah celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company here in Paducah last month. Luther Carson first brought the bottling company to Paducah in 1903.
The first case of Coca-Cola was bottled on March 27, 1903 at 10:35 AM. Luther Carson then carried that first case to local grocery store owner, George Wolf and sold it. That would be the start of a 100-year business that is still going strong today!
Not used for bottling anymore, the plant carries more than 300 packages and brands. Each of these is distributed to businesses in the surrounding areas. Paducah has been blessed with Luther Carson and his dream of a Coca-Cola bottle in everyone's hands.
If given the chance, drop by the plant at 3141 Broadway for a tour of what one man accomplished with a dream and a lot of hard work and sweat. From the marble floors, polished chrome handrails, and beautiful coke-bottle shaped chandelier, you will not be disappointed.
