The Four Rivers Center

Four Rivers Center for the Performing Arts
Area residents will soon have more options when it comes to live entertainment. Paducah is pleased to announce it will be the home for the new Four Rivers Center for the Performing Arts. The building will be located at the 100 block of Kentucky Ave., between Water and Second Streets.
This multi-million dollar project will not only bring entertainers from all over the nation, but will also create several jobs for local residents. It is estimated that this project will bring an estimated $50.5 million in additional economic activity, 1,023 in construction jobs, and $1.2 million in state tax revenue.
It has been questioned whether the Paducah region has a large enough entertainment market to support this project. With over 895,000 people living in the four-state region, 223,000 living in the 12 surrounding counties, and 498,000 people living within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, there should be no doubt that Paducah does indeed have the market to support this huge project.
Making this project possible is an endowment fund that was obtained prior to construction. It is unheard of for a project of this size to raise funds for endowment prior to construction. With this fund in place, the Four Rivers Center will be able to keep prices of tickets to a minimum and offer low rental rates to area businesses.
With the projected completion date of November 2003 and the Grand Opening scheduled by January 2004, The Four Rivers Centers is almost a reality after being a dream of Dr. Ted Borodofsky's for over 10 years.
