Campaign 2000
by AboutPaducah.com Editors (October 28, 2000)
To help you make an informed decision this election, we've asked two candidates for mayor of Paducah one question. Here are the responses:
AboutPaducah:
"What do you feel is the most important issue in this election and what will you do regarding this issue?"
Jeff Haley:
The most important issue facing Paducah is how the city operates, in relation to it's citizens and small business owners.
My first 90 day's in office would be spent re-organizing city government to operate more efficiently and to meet the growing needs of both the rich and poor, black and white, for our brothers and sisters. This can be accomplished by putting together a review committee made up of civic and community leaders, labor, small business owners and average citizens to review laws, tax structure and the general way the city conducts itself. Making recommendations to the Mayor and commission about how to implement these changes. Only then can we truly have a city where PROGRESS for a CHANGE is more than just a slogan....
