Lake Barkley State Resort

Lake Barkley State Resort rests on the shores of one of the world's largest man-made lakes and provides for an array of outdoor activity. Lake Barkley also offers the best indoors. The fitness center is a state-of-the-art facility to help you stay in shape throughout the year.

Accommodations
Constructed of Western Cedar, Douglas Fir, and three-and one-half acres of glass, the Barkley Lodge complex provides a lake view from the private balconies of most of the 120 rooms and four suites. The gift shop located in the lodge lobby offers a large selection of Kentucky handcrafts.

Little River Lodge
The Little River Lodge offers 10 rooms and one suite and may be rented as a whole unit.

Cottages
For private accommodations, enjoy one of the nine two-bedroom, two-bath cottages with lake or wooded views. For rustic charm Lake Barkley offers 4 two-bedroom log cabins. Each have unique appeal, and offer screened-in porches or decks. Tableware, cooking utensils and linens are provided, with fresh linen provided daily.

Campground
Find delight in the outdoors in the campground. The campground has 78 sites with utility hookups, a dump station, and two central service buildings with showers and rest rooms.
Open through November 9. Reopens February 14, 2004. No advance reservations, check-out by 2:00 p.m. Central time. Pets are allowed if restrained.

Dining Room
The atmosphere in the dining room is beyond compare, as is the service and cuisine! Enjoy outstanding views of the lake from the three-story-tall windows that soar to a lofted ceiling. This 331-seat dining room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Airport
A 4,800 ft. paved, lighted airstrip is located three miles from the lodge. 100 L.L. and Jet A fuel are available.

Convention Center & Meeting Rooms
The Lake Barkley Convention Center is the perfect facility for large meetings. Equipped for banquets, this center can accommodate 500 guests. Two private meeting rooms in the lodge can accommodate groups up to 150 guests.

Fitness Center
Pamper yourself year-round at the Lake Barkley Fitness Center. This indoor facility is equipped with nautilus machines, fitness cycles, Olympic free-weight room, leverage equipment, aerobic classes, glass racquet ball court, tanning beds, sauna, wet-steam room, whirlpool, and locker rooms. With a staff of five certified trainers and a certified massage therapist you're in good hands!

Enjoy one of the most exciting results of Lake Barkley Resort's renovation, the new wellness pool, designed as an addition to the Lake Barkley Fitness Center. The heated indoor pool can be used free of charge by lodge and cottage guests. Individual daily memberships can be bought by persons staying at nearby resorts. These daily fees are discounted for Lake Barkley Resort campground and marina guests. Open year-round.

Water Sports

Marina
With a 57,920-acre lake, Barkley is a year-round boating paradise. The marina is one-half mile from the lodge and offers 112 covered slips, 60 open slips, and a launching ramp. Rental fishing boats, pontoon boats, and ski boats are available.

Barkley Lodge
Fishing
Enjoy hours of fishing pleasure at Lake Barkley. Anglers cast for largemouth, white, and Kentucky bass, bluegill, channel catfish and crappie.

Swimming
A swimming pool fronting the lodge between the lake and the lodge is for the exclusive use of lodge and cottage guests. The public beach offers a volleyball court, bathhouse, and hours of swimming fun in the waters of Lake Barkley

Test your golfing skills on the 18-hole Boots Randolph Course. A pro shop, rental riding carts, pull carts, and golf clubs are available. Golf packages are offered.

Tennis
Enjoy a tennis match on one of two lighted courts near the lodge for the exclusive use of overnight guests.

Trap Range
Test your marksmanship at the trap range. The lighted range provides 12-gauge shot guns. $ Charge for shotgun shells and clay targets. Supervised trapshooting is seasonal - Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hours of operation Wednesday 7-8 pm; Saturday 9-10 am. Private shoot can be arranged at other times by contacting Lake Barkley Recreation at least two weeks prior to arrival.

Trails
Enjoy the beauty surrounding Lake Barkley on one of three self-guiding trails, providing 9 miles of nature study. Seven miles are open for mountain biking.

Planned Recreation
A recreation director organizes daily summer activities and year-round special events for children and adults.

Special Events
The park hosts many special events in 2004, such as as the "Sweetheart Weekend" and the "Eagles Weekend" in February, a free Easter Egg Hunt, the "Spring Bike Tour" in April, a free 4th of July Celebration, the "Fabulous Fall 5K Run" in October, The Trigg County Ham Festival in October, and the "Barkley Bash" on New Year's Eve. Picnicking & Playgrounds
A picnic shelter near the beach has a gorgeous lake view; and picnic tables, grills, and playgrounds are located in the cottage and camping areas. Shelter available for rental, $.
