Fishtrap Lake WMA

15,299 acres: Portions of lake shoreline, Pike Co.

This area consists of very steep, rough terrain with narrow ridges and valleys that are completely forested, primarily in hardwoods. Deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, and grouse can be found here. No camping is allowed. Boating, fishing, and other water-related sports are allowed.

Fishtrap Lake WMA is located S of Pikeville on US 460. Take KY 1789 to the dam area, then KY 1499 to the upper end of the lake. The area can also be accessed by boat.

  • 12,764 acres in Lawrence Co.

    This area consists of hilly, wooded terrain with old fields. An observation area is located above reconstructed wetlands. Squirrel, grouse, deer, rabbit, quail, woodcock, turkey, raccoon, and numerous songbirds can be found here. No ATVs or camping are allowed on the management area.
