Biking In Paducah, KY

Keep fit and in shape while getting close to nature and experiencing the beauty of the outdoors. Paducah has great places to bike! Madison, Monroe, and Jefferson Streets are wide enough for biking, with slow posted speed limits, and features adjacent sidewalks for very little ones. On Madison or Monroe, riders can pedal from 28th Street to the river without encountering much traffic.

Weekly Group Rides
Looking for training rides, or like to improve your riding skills, weekly rides sponsored by Chain Reaction Cycle Club. Start and end at Info Park on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings. April start is 5:30pm, after May 1, 6pm. No entry fee, no services. riders should be self-supporting.

There are long and short routes for each ride. Long routes are generally faster. Riders with many different speed capabilities participate, so the group does not stay together. Everyone rides at their own pace. Nearly everyone ends up finding someone pedaling at about their pace. Directional arrows are marked on the roads.

Rides start at 6 PM & finish before dark.

Route details:
Mondays 22 & 28 Miles. Flat. The best ride for beginners. Meet and park behind Higdon McBride Furniture, 4345 Cairo Rd. Paducah. From I-24 Take Exit 3. Turn East (toward Paducah). Go 1 mile. Store is on left.

Tuesdays 21 & 24 Miles. Flat to Rolling Paducah's Information Age Park From I-24 Take exit 4. (Mall area) Turn West on Hgwy 60 (away from Paducah) Go about 1 mile and turn left, following Information Age Park directional signs. Park at Resource Center Building in middle of park.

Wednesday 22 & 27 Miles, Rolling to downright Hilly For regulars this is a "Race Ride," the hardest workout of the week. Great for testing endurance and tracking personal improvement.

  • Otter Creek Park is located 30 miles southwest of Louisville, Kentucky off Hwy. 1638. The park consists of 2,600 forested acres with recreational choices that include mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, inner tube, kayak and canoe rentals on Otter Creek and cave tours.
